This is not an educational technology, though wouldn’t it be great to have them in your classrooms. I am certainly getting some for my house.
But this says loads about the direction technology in general is going: consumer-drive, simple, beautiful, personal, user-directed, expressive. How much of what we are planning for our ed-tech initiatives have these words as driving principles? I can honestly say we have embraced “personal” and “user-directed” and “simple” and “consumer-drive” but I need to think hard about “beautiful” and “expressive.”
Is your ed tech beautiful? I don’t think that is a frivolous question.
