How to measure student engagement on Twitter

My IB Theory of Knowledge (IB TOK) students and I have started experimenting with using Twitter as a collaborative note-taking tool. To support this experiment, we’ve set up this nifty interactive archive of tweets using this terrific bag-o-tricks from Martin Hawksey

The result is a live (updates every 5 minutes during classes) interactive archive of tweets. Click on a user name and I can see the number of tweets he or she has sent and even see the tweets themselves.

The program also tracks top tweeter, top hashtags and, most importantly, top conversationalists–those who engage others in dicussion.

Hawksey’s instructions are straightforward. Follow them carefully and you can roll your own archive.
